Who this consultation is for

Couples approaching retirement within five to ten years, professionals with multiple workplace pensions, and owner-managers weighing a partial sale of shares. The review is designed for UK tax residents who want a single adviser to hold the full picture rather than product-by-product sales conversations.

The result you can expect

You receive a written plan that states what to contribute, which wrappers to use this tax year, how to sequence pension access, and which decisions can wait. The letter is yours to keep and share with your accountant; it is not a product purchase.

Duration and delivery

Most engagements complete within four to six weeks from the discovery call. Meetings are held at our Northern Ireland office or by video across Great Britain. Preparation typically takes two evenings gathering statements and completing a short cashflow worksheet we send after discovery.

Pricing basis

Fees start at £1,850 for a two-adult household with straightforward pension and ISA holdings. Complex business shareholdings, overseas assets, or defined benefit transfer analysis are quoted after discovery. No product commission is taken; fees are agreed in writing before paid work begins.

Provider

Advice is delivered by Blue Haven Financial Advisory advisers authorised to advise on UK retail investment and pension matters. Where a specialist (for example, a defined benefit transfer specialist) is required, we introduce them rather than stretch beyond our remit.

How the work proceeds

  1. 1

    Discovery call

We confirm whether a full review is warranted, outline fees, and list the documents to gather — P60s, pension statements, ISA valuations, and any shareholder agreements.

  2. 2

    Fact-find meeting

A two-hour session (in person in Northern Ireland or by video) to map goals, risk capacity, and constraints such as state pension age or planned property moves.

  3. 3

    Recommendation letter

Within fifteen working days you receive a plain-English letter covering cashflow, pension contribution strategy, wrapper use, and a sequenced action list.

  4. 4

    Review meeting

We walk through the letter, answer follow-up questions, and agree which actions you will take with third parties.
