Refund & cancellation
Rules for deposits, cancellations, rescheduling, and refunds on Blue Haven advice engagements. Last updated 4 August 2026.
1. Scope
These terms apply to paid consultations offered by Blue Haven Financial Advisory, including the Comprehensive Financial Planning Review, Pension Consolidation Review, Investment Portfolio Second Opinion, and Business Owner Cashflow & Exit Planning. Discovery calls are free and require no refund policy.
2. Refund eligibility
A full refund of fees paid is available if you cancel in writing before we begin the fact-find meeting and before we have started substantive document review. Once fact-finding or document analysis has begun, refunds are partial as described below.
3. Timeframe to request a refund
Refund requests must be emailed to hello@cybersecurity-dataplatform.digital within 14 days of the event giving rise to the request (for example, cancellation or a material change of scope you did not accept).
4. Full and partial refunds
Full refund: cancellation before fact-find and before paid analysis work, or if we cancel an engagement we cannot complete for reasons within our control.
Partial refund: if work has started, we refund the unused portion after deducting time already spent at the hourly rate stated in your engagement letter (or a reasonable equivalent if only a fixed fee was stated). The deposit may be retained to the extent it covers work completed.
5. Non-refundable items
Fees for work already delivered — including completed recommendation letters and review meetings held — are non-refundable. Third-party charges we incur on your instruction (for example, paid transfer pack retrieval fees billed by a scheme) are non-refundable once paid to the third party.
6. Deposits
A typical deposit of 40% is payable on acceptance of the engagement letter. The deposit is applied to the final fee. It is refundable only under the full-refund conditions above.
7. Cancellation and rescheduling
You may reschedule a discovery call or fact-find meeting with at least 48 hours’ notice at no charge. Shorter notice may forfeit a scheduling slot without a fee if the discovery call is free; for paid meetings already reserved, we may charge a rescheduling fee of up to £75 if we cannot reuse the slot.
8. No-shows
If you miss a paid meeting without notice, we may treat the allocated time as work commenced and deduct it from any refund calculation. A second missed meeting may end the engagement with fees due for work completed to date.
9. Work already started
Document review, modelling, and drafting count as started work. You remain liable for fees covering that work even if you later decide not to implement recommendations.
10. Refund process and method
Approved refunds are returned by the original payment method within 14 working days of approval. We confirm the amount in writing before processing.
